“He who wants to change the world should already begin by cleaning the dishes.” - Paul Carvel

So maybe I wasn't cleaning dishes, but I was scrubbing showers! That's a start right? It sure felt like a lot of work. As many of you know my apartment is very old, so I noticed that the tile looked a little strange. For a while I just brushed it off as being old tile. Well, what I had been describing as "the poppy seed growth" on my shower, was actually mildew. So, I had to get down and dirty and attack it!
While I'm not a fan of chores (who is?), I sort of enjoyed this one... My mom told me to make a make-shift mask out of something so that I wasn't breathing in bleach. Me, being innovative as usual, wrapped a sports bra around my head and tied it together in the back. It worked REALLY well, and it was comfortable and soft.
Here's a picture of my shower before I got hold of it:
And here's a picture of how it looked once I worked with Mr. Magic (a.k.a bleach and a scrubber):
So, I'm glad to have that out of the way. My bathroom feels so sparkly and brand new! Also-- I'm not sure if I've mentioned this previously but my lights were out in my bathroom so for the past two weeks I've been getting ready in a crummily lit corner of my room. I'm not sure why it took me two weeks to get a lightbulb, but it did and when I finally bought one I got home, screwed it in, and it didn't work. It was like someone was making a cruel joke out of my life. For those of you that don't understand what I'm referencing, there's a dumb blonde joke that asks "How many blondes does it take to screw in a lightbulb?" Well I have the answer.... and it's apparently more than one.
My landlord came by today and fixed that for me though, so my light is in working order again! It's nice to take a shower that isn't in pitch black darkness for the first time in several weeks.
Last night I had coffee with a boy I met at church which was really nice. We had a lot in common and it was fun to get to hang out and talk with someone that had so many similar interests.

I know a lot of you (Like Mrs. Mahala!) like me posting pictures of what I cooked for dinner, so since it's been a while I'll go ahead and do that!
SO, two nights ago I didn't have very many options mainly because I just hadn't had time to get a lot of basic things I needed from the grocery store. It ended up being a Peanut butter & strawberry jelly sandwich kinda night (paired with some apple sauce). Needless to say, it was DELICIOUS (That's for Zak Marlow who pointed out that it's apparently my favorite adjective when it comes to describing the way food tastes).

The next night, I had cooking instructor Elizabeth Lauster avec Chef Pretty-Boy teaching me how to make pasta and creme sauce.
Boiling noodles for the first time! Exciting!
 The final result!
Then tonight.... things got interesting. I went to the store because I thought it would be a good idea to have some chicken nuggets. (I'm most likely not getting enough protein here). So I bought one of those bags that has like, 50 nuggets in it. On the front it said "DINDE NUGGETS". Thinking that Dinde was the way French people said Dinosaur (it sounds correct, doesn't it??) I was like Score! 50 Dinosaur nuggets for three euros! So I bought it, got home, translated the front of the bag only to find out I had actually bought turkey nuggets..................................... Don't be fooled by the picture. They were terrible. Anyway, I paired those with two baby bake potatoes. One of them was good... the other wasn't.
Seeing as I pretty much picked around that entire meal, my stomach was rumbling in about 30 minutes. That's when I decided to treat myself to a delicious dessert. I made some hot chocolate in my cute little cup and saucer, and I had a piece of toast with strawberry jam on it. SO much better than my actual dinner!
I hate to report that not much else has happened in these couple of days... Hopefully some interesting things will happen tomorrow or over the weekend!
Somebody posted a video of me speaking French today on Facebook but you can only see it if you're friends with the person that posted it, SO i'm going to see if there's a way I can download the video file onto my computer and upload it for you guys! Sorry if I can't though!
Au revoir,

“There's no life without humour. It can make the wonderful moments of life truly glorious, and it can make tragic moments bearable.” - Rufus Wainwright

A pre-note: If you guys don't already know, you can click on any of the pictures in my blog and it will take you to a higher quality, larger version of the image.
Hello everyone! This week has been long, but awesome! Last time I wrote was Thursday night, and since then QUITE a bit has happened. Friday morning I had planned on having breakfast with Becca (which I mentioned in my last blog). SO, I woke up at 8 a.m. to make SURE I wouldn't be late. I headed out the door, got down the street and remembered that for the SECOND time I'd forgotten my metro card (I had also forgotten it the day before and had to buy metro tickets all day). Since I had given myself enough time, I hurried back to my apartment, grabbed it and went to the metro again. Thinking Becca had said the cafe was on line 6, I headed toward it. REALLY, she had said it was in the 6th arrondissement, on line four. So after I'd gone about 8 stops towards line 6, I jumped off and switched at Strassbourg St. Denis. Little did I know, line four only runs sometimes from Strassbourg St. Denis. I asked a girl if it was running, and she told me yes, when really it wasn't. Lost and confused I asked a guy if he knew how to get to a line four. When he figured out I didn't speak French (for whatever reason) he continued to follow me around speaking to me in French. I had no clue what to do or how to get rid of him so I just walked out of the metro station to call Becca. About five minutes into our conversation, my phone cuts out because I was out of money on my "pay-as-you-go" plan. I call her back with the couple of cents I have left on my plan, and my phone dies because of battery. :| So, I'd gotten enough information to get myself to the bakery. So finally we get there and we couldn't read the menu to save our lives so we just guessed. I got a croissant filled with chocolate, and a hot chocolate. Becca got a TRAY of toasts with jams, and butter.
My hot chocolate came with a biscotti spoon, that broke off after about two stirs.... so I had to spoon it out of my cup. Here's a picture of Becca with her spoon:
This is Becca's tray of toast (she somehow managed to eat all of it except for one of the pieces which I ate). I was pretty impressed. I think the best part of the whole morning was when Becca tried to dip her toast in her coffee, and decided it was too big. She then thought it would be best to just til the glass so she could fit her toast. While doing so, she didn't realize the coffee was pouring onto the toast, through the holes, and onto the table. We were laughing so hard she started crying, and my stomach started aching.
Finally we parted ways and both went to school. It was Alice's last day which was so sad :'( Here's a picture of everyone in the class. From left to right we have my teacher, PingLing, me (my face looked strange), Jessica, Alice, Susan, and Hilda.
After that I went out with the youth and met a girl named Lindsey who is from California. She's really nice and spunky. We went to QuickBurger later and while we were sitting there some boys told me to read the back of a fry box. After working up enough courage to mutter the first sentence, I started and it was so awful. They even filmed it! Hahahaha. But they didn't make fun of me! So that made it a little bit better. French is so hard because I never know how much of the word i'm supposed to pronounce. Sometimes a word will have "ons" at the end, and all three letters are silent. It's awful! Later that night I came home and was passing my mailbox and thought "Gosh... How come I don't have any sort of mail?" I took a closer look and saw a few things sticking out. Now, my mailbox is like a compartment in the wall with a smallllllll rectangle at the top to put the mail through. Thinking this was the only way to get your mail out as well, I wriggled my hand in there. Aggravated that I could only reach a couple of the papers, I kept wiggling my arm around. I was thinking "Why do they make this so complicated?!". That's when I looked down and saw a lock and it hit me that my mom had told me there was a key for my mailbox. Thinking that key was upstairs, I walked up ALLLLL the stairs and got to my apartment only to remember that it was on my keychain, attached to my wallet, in my purse, which had been on my arm the entire time. I walked BACK down, opened it up, and saw about 20 pieces of mail. I gathered it all up and came back upstairs. My WONDERFUL grandparents sent me a card! It made my day! It's the only piece of real mail I've gotten. If you'd like to send me anything, or you'd like me to send you a post card, just give me your address, or I'll give you mine.
Later that night I received the bad news that my best friend Kelsey had been in a terrible car accident and was in the hospital. My parents and a lot of my friends went to the hospital to wait with her parents, and they brought me so I could be there via Skype which was really nice. I felt awful I couldn't be there in person. She was t-boned by a garbage truck, and her internal organs were pushed up into her diaphragm. One of her lungs collapsed, and she has slight bleeding in the brain. She had to have immediate surgery, which went well. Please continue to pray for her. We've been best friends since we were five, so it was really hard to hear that that had happened to her and be a million miles away. Here's a picture of her:
I ended up staying up til seven a.m. waiting on some news about how she was doing, so I slept til about 3 P.M. today. When I woke up I remembered I had to go return a dress to Zara which is forever away. It was really rainy today, so I was thankful I had my umbrella. I walked around a little bit, and shopped some, and then headed on my way home. I remembered I had to get some groceries so I decided I'd just stick them in my shopping bags. I had no clue just how heavy everything was going to be. I ended up buying a pack of 6 bottles of San Pellegrino, a bottle of Cola Lite, and some strawberry-banana-orange juice. On top of that, I had a package of vanilla yogurt (in glass jars), strawberry yogurts, apple sauce, and strawberry jam. I also had to buy some other things but they didn't way as much. I had about five bags all stuffed with heavy groceries. I made my way out (in the rain) with my bags feeling like they were going to pull my arms off. I walked all the way back to my apartment and thought I was going to pass out. I sat at the bottom step, hoping and praying that somebody would pass by and help me out. After a while I decided to leave the groceries at the bottom floor, walk up, and knock on my neighbor Josh's door to see if he would help me carry them up. I knocked, no answer. So I walked back down the five flights of stairs, gave my groceries a dirty look, hoisted them up into my arms, and made the journey upstairs. Right when I got to my apartment my bag ripped up the side and my drinks went tumbling out (luckily remaining in tact). Here's a picture of the lovely piece of luck:
After I got all the groceries out, I cleaned out my fridge, and restocked it with all he new things! So this is my little fridge: Hamburger patties on the very top shelf, vanilla yogurt, strawberry yogurt, cream cheese, and butter on the next shelf. Apple sauce, a baguette, and some sandwich breads on the next shelf. Pastas and ham on the last shelf.
This is where I keep all my drinks and bottled things. So we have milk, orange juice, strawberry-banana-orange juice, cola light, then on the bottom shelf we have pickles, ketchup, strawberry jam, and some sparkling water. I'm fully stocked for a good while!
This is what I made for dinner tonight! It's the best thing ever. It's a box with premade pastas in it and all I have to do is take it out and heat it up and they're so delicious. Tonight's was noodles with a tomato, mozzarella, basil sauce.
So this is what the actual box looks like once you take it out of the packaging. You peel the plastic back and pop it in the microwave. After two minutes you put it in a bowl and heat it up again.
The package comes with this cute little utensil thing that seperates, and fits together.
This is what it looks like all together:
This is what the finished pasta looked like! It was so so so delicious for only two minutes!
Me enjoying my delicious pasta!
While I was out today, I sort of kept my eye open for some good deals on summer clothes since I'm going to Spain in two weeks and only have winter clothes here! I found this cute dress at Promod for 15 euros. It's really light, and has pretty lace up the sides, on the back, and on the arms.
I also found this sweater dress which I thought was very "Audrey Hepburn". It's sort of a greyish color. Really lovely, AND mega comfortable! It was only 15 euros as well.
Soooo, that was pretty much my day! Tomorrow I have church and I'm so excited for that! I'll try to write a blog tomorrow but I've got French to study for so I'm not sure if I'll have time!
Until then.....
Au revoir!

“And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.” - Kahlil Gibran

Oh lord! Those of you that read my blog last night know that I was thinking about cutting my hair today.
Those of you who know me well know that once I get an idea in my brain I don't stop until I've somehow completed whatever it is I wanted to do. So today, after school, I bought some scissors and snip snip. My bangs are gone! I've cut my friend's hair before but this is the first time I've cut my own hair so I was obviously REALLY nervous. When I reached my nose I started freaking out thinking I'd cut them too short. I proceeded to cut another two inches off once I calmed down.

I know I have a picture on my facebook, but the pictures I just put up above sort of show how it actually looks better. I'm still a little shaky feeling, but I actually really like the cut. It's just weird to look in the mirror and see bangs.
ANYWAY, school was great today. Alice bought about 50 cookies (no joke, she bought every single cookie the bakery had) for the class today. There was chocolate chip, macadamia nut, white chocolate chip. Mmmmmm-mmmmmmm tasty! Unfortunately its her last day tomorrow :( It's going to be so sad when she leaves. D;
I have no cheese for my sandwich tomorrow so I'm really interested in seeing what I scrounge up to eat for lunch..... Tomorrow is brunch with Becca at La Confiturier! Really excited about that!

I need to head off to bed now, but those of you who are friends with me on facebook can check out the video of me cutting my hair if you like. If you're not friends with me on facebook, you can either add me (Lauren Cashwell) or you can just wait until tomorrow when I post the video on here!
Au revoir!

"A garden is a friend you can visit anytime." - Unknown

Bonjour!!! I hope you're all doing well! This morning when I went to take a shower, I flipped on my light switch and KAZOONK my light bulb went out. So I had to get ready in my bedroom, which wasn't the best way to start my day. :P But other than that today was such an incredible day! Alice and I talked a lot during French class and for one of our exercises we had to ask people their favorite things. So the phrase for this is "Quest-ce que vous aimez....(insert whatever you want to ask them about)" So I asked PingLing (the new Chinese girl) what her favorite food was. Her answer was "J'aime le (a word that sounded like noir)" so I was like Hm? and so was the French teacher. So Alice goes, Nuts! Like peanuts and stuff..... and the teacher goes OH NOIX. And PingLing goes NO NO NO. and in unison the entire class started cracking up and none of us knew why. I think we were all just so worn out that the fact Alice thought her favorite food was assorted nuts cracked us all up. Any of you know me know that sometimes I get into "giggle fits" where I just start laughing uncontrollably and can't stop myself. Well, the same thing was happening to Alice and we laughed for about ten minutes and didn't stop til our eyes were watering. It was so much fun!
Then after school Pamela, Alice, and I walked out of school together and they asked me if I had to go to the metro I always go to. Winging it (mainly because I just wanted to hang out with them) I said "Pshh! Noooo. I can go to any metro." So we walked through the Luxembourg gardens and just talked about life. I would've been so pleased if that garden had been never ending. I didn't want to part ways with them. Finally my metro came and I got on hoping and praying there was actually a stop I could connect to. Luckily there was (14 stops away......). I was practically dead by the time I got home but luckily I had my stair rhyme to get me through.

One, it's just begun.
Two, almost halfway through.
Three, yippee!
Four, almost to the door.
Five, thank God I'm still alive.

I recite that on my way up the stairs (each line with its corresponding level obviously). It helps the time pass. :P Then I got home and heated up a little quiche and it was delllliiiiccccciiiioooouuuussss. After that I started contemplating whether or not I should cut my bangs. I can pretend this is a decision all I want, and weigh the pros and cons but when it comes down to it my mind is already made up, and I think I'm going to do it just to have something new. Here's a picture of what I'd like: (the blonde one)

So I'll post a picture tomorrow of how it ended up turning out. Wish me luck! A little later Cathy called me and we made pancakes together and then skyped with Lindsey. That was so much fun to all be sort of back together again.

I also skyped with Fabio for a little while but he left and put Teddy on:

While we were skyping I decided to work on hanging my laundry up. I had NO clue how I was going to tackle the sheets.... I finally decided to just hang them up in front of my windows but I really hope they dry soon because they're blocking all my sunlight! It might be tough to wake up in the morning!

To make my day ten times better my mom's best friend told me today that she'd like to fly me out to Seville, Spain for a few days! I'm SO excited! Such an awesome awesome awesome gift. It's going to be beautiful, and I can't wait to get a taste of warm weather again!

Speaking of Spain... a couple weeks ago I met an American girl named Becca from Wisconsin here. She goes to Hillsong and she's really nice and hilarious. So I asked her if she wanted to go to the George Pompidou museum but she's going to be in Spain this week so she can't but we're planning to go next week so get ready for some awesome photos!

Alright, well, it's time for bed! But before I go, here's a picture of my quiche!

Au revoir!
Lauren

P.S. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the bangs!

“I see nothing in space as promising as the view from a Ferris wheel.” - E. B. White

Hello everyone! I hope you had an incredible Valentine's day! I know I've not updated in a while (I realize you hear that every blog post) but I really haven't done much of anything this week apart from school.
So Friday after school I had a little bit of light still so I walked around and saw a bunch of couples holding hands and it struck me that there was no better place on earth to make a valentine's day video than the city of love! Now, apparently a lot of you thought that I got the clips from somewhere else so just to clear that up I do all the filming and editing for my videos myself.
So for those of you that don't have a facebook here's the video:

I only had a couple hours before it got dark so it's sort of short. Then Sunday was church and it was also Jonathan's birthday so we all walked to a Kebab restaurant, and then hung out at a cafe. I left to go to church at 10 a.m. and didn't end up getting home til 6:30! It was incredible! I didn't even realize it until I came up the metro steps and it was pitch black! Since then it's pretty much been school and cleaning.
Then yesterday I needed to write a letter so I stopped by BHV (a department store) and picked up some stationary, a notebook for notes in church, and some pens. While I was there I decided to check to see if there were any new clothes on sale and after about ten minutes of walking around I ducked into a dressing room and took off my giant sweater and tights and boots and cooled off for a little while. Call me crazy but you try walking around a department store with no air conditioning for hours on end. You get desperate and creative.  So then today I got home and decided I was getting really sick of microwaveable foods ( I haven't got an oven so that's really my only option) and since the day I've been here I have REFUSED to go anywhere near red meat that wasn't cooked. But like I said, desperation takes me down new paths. I went to the store and found hamburger meat that was already shaped like a patty so all I had to do was plop it into the pan and wait! It was DELICIOUS! Here's a photo of it! I also made some roasted potatoes for a side dish.
....Sorry that the hamburger is already half eaten. It looked so delicious I couldn't wait to dig in and taste my first hamburger! Then when I finished mom suggested I go down and take a ride on the ferris wheel and thus the adventure begins..... I took the metro to Concorde and switched over at Tuileries. Then I exit at Tuileries and its pitch black by this point. So I didn't see the ferris wheel so I walked down the street for about three blocks trying to find it and finally had to give in and ask a woman. She had no clue what I was asking, and she tried to tell me that the ferris wheel was closed this time of year and I was like "well, I just saw it...." so I walked back to the metro station and while I was about to cross the street I saw it. Lit up, tall and beautiful, with the Eiffel tower illuminated behind it. With a big smile on my face I walked two blocks down to the spot where it was. While I was standing in line to pay, there were about ten fifteen year olds all looking towards me and talking. Thinking they were telling me I could go ahead, I took out my headphones to get a better listen. They were speaking French 90 miles an hour and so I told them I didn't speak French and one of the girls goes "We think you are very beautiful." and I was like Oh, thank you :) and then they all started laughing and speaking in French again and that made me a little suspicious.  So then I paid ten euros, and I was standing, waiting for an empty car, and the guy operating the machines (about 39, greek looking) and he smiles a big smile at me and says "Bon soir!" (Good evening) and I said Bon soir. :) and so he goes Il fait trĂ©s froid, non? (it's very cold, no?) and I said Oui! and so he holds out his hand for me to shake and I shake it and he doesn't let go for several minutes and I was like ............ so finally my car comes and he points and says We go together? and I was like No thank you. :) and he goes Okay, you go by yourself :D and so I get in and it only lasted about 5 minutes and I was like For real? I just paid 10 euros for that? So I get to the bottom to get out and he just opens up the door, walks inside my car, and sits down. He looked up at me and said, Okay, now we go together. You sit down and we talk. (Meanwhile his short, stubby friend is peaking his head through rooting him on). The stocky one asked me where I was from, and several other small questions like that. I just stared, wide eyed at him trying to figure out what was going on. Finally he gave up and said Okay okay, I let you go one more time free. So I got to take two rides for one which made it worth ten euros. Then I got off, walked to the metro and I was standing, waiting for a train to come when all of these announcements come on in French. Totally lost and confused I asked someone what they said and they said they couldn't tell me. Thinking it wouldn't affect me I got on the metro anyway. I asked again, only to find out that the metro wasn't making stops after Republique. Just my luck, my stop is one after Republique. ........ so I got off there and had NO clue what direction to head to walk to my apartment. I asked some people at a kebab stand and they pointed the way! It took me about 16 minutes to get back to my apartment. So that's where we've left off! Here's a few photos and a video from tonight!
I thought that statue looked so beautiful lit up in the dark.
My gorgeous ferris wheel.
Hope you enjoy the videos!
Au demain,
Lauren!

“Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot; others transform a yellow spot into the sun.” - Pablo Picasso

Hey guys! I didn't update yesterday because there wasn't really anything to update about. I hate to keep you guys waiting, but I hate giving you something boring to read even more! So today was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I woke up to a sunny sky shining through the window. It was one of those mornings where you just want to lean outside your window the whole day and watch everything go by. When I got out of school today the sun was setting and I had my camera and it was just too beautiful of an opportunity to pass up so I took the metro down to Hotel de Ville and walked around the Seine and got some pictures, and also took a few pictures at some shops near my apartment. This one was a shop that was really cool inside. They had a bunch of differently framed things, like mirrors, posters, etc. I thought that the red of the building looked really neat with the rest of the photo.
This one I liked because of the lamp and the sign above the door. I wanted to walk inside and check it out but there was nobody else there and you have no idea how awkward it is to shop in a store by yourself. I made that mistake once today and when I walked in, the clerk stood up and she just watched me as the heels of my boots clicked around the floor. It only took me the first pair of pants to realize I couldn't afford a piece of lint from the store, but I just made my rounds anyway and then walked out (the clerk staring all the while).
I thought this photo was really beautiful because the sun was hitting all of the buildings and you can almost feel it.
Uncle Steve-- If you're reading this, this is for you! Any time I see an old car I think of you! So I took a picture since I had my camera with me.
Ahhhh, the classic "metro sign" picture. Had to get one eventually...
Hotel de Ville in the afternoon. Such a beautiful sight!!! Susan (a lady in my class) cracked me up because she said she thought Hotel de Ville was a chain of French hotels since she had been seeing them in different places. (Hotel de Ville is like the city hall for each city)
This is BHV, a big department store directly across from Hotel de Ville. I took this photo and while I was editing realized the two people standing and talking and thought that made it really interesting.
A beautiful statue outside of Hotel de Ville.
Fountains in front of the sunset. Paris is so beautiful, isn't it?
The Seine. This is most definitely one of my favorite places in Paris. There's always a street musician playing something, and there's always a couple holding hands, or a boat passing by the river packed full of tourists. At night you can take a boat down the river and they'll take you past the Eiffel Tower and it twinkles for the first fifteen minutes of every hour.
This is also my favorite thing about Paris-- the side shops! There's a whole row of these things set up in the summer time selling posters, postcards, books, records. It's fantastic! There were only two open today, one selling books, the other records.
So that was my day today! It was also Lourdes, Talos, and Laura's last day of language school. :( I'm definitely going to miss them! I hate to say this guys, but today wasn't very eventful either! I wasn't feeling very well so I didn't go to hang out with the youth tonight like I had planned :(
Hopefully tomorrow or Sunday will present something interesting to blog about! I did think though, if any of my followers have something that they would like me to go and take pictures of, or film, I'd love to hear! You can either comment on this post, or if you don't know how to do that email me on facebook, or email me at laurencashwell@gmail.com

Very much looking forward to your feedback! Your ideas will also give me something interesting to do when I have free time, and give me a reason to go check out different spots in Paris!

Au revoir,
Lauren

“Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”

In just one week I truly have made some amazing friends and I'm so so so thankful for that. I'm still getting to know them all but they make being on my own infinitely easier. Without my friends at language school I would just be sitting in a class, memorizing words and pronunciation. With them I laugh, I joke, and I mostly enjoy my time. Without my friends at Hillsong I would feel like one among the many. With them I feel like I'm right at home, and they give me something to look forward to every Sunday! Without all of my friends and family back in America, I wouldn't be missed! I would just be a girl in Paris doing her thing. With them they've pumped me up for the exciting journey I'm slowly beginning. I think that's what life's all about: Finding friends that make things worth it. Speaking of friends, here's a clip I put together from language school today. It has all of my classmates minus a few:

I put all of their names so you would be able to get a mental picture of who I'm talking about next time! :) Other than that, I hate to say that today was pretty uneventful. If you like though, I'll fill you in on the monotonous details of my agenda.
This morning, I was peacefully asleep, dreaming about mille-feuille's, and all the sudden I hear WOOOSH and next thing I know, my poster has fallen off my wall and is draped over my face and body. I contemplated staying asleep, but I decided to take the poster as a wake up call mainly because I knew if I went back to sleep there was an 80% chance that I wouldn't wake up til 12 and I didn't want a repeat of yesterday. So I got up, made a DELICIOUS breakfast:
Thats bacon, eggs, toast with strawberry jam, and yogurt with a glass of OJ---the PERFECT way to start off my morning. So then I skyped with mom for a little while and it truly was a heart breaking experience. Mainly because we kept the camera pointed at Sargent. Who wouldn't miss a face like this?

Then I got on the metro and was waiting for my stop and a homeless/crazy man got on and just let me tell you what I told Julianne and Adam. Riding a metro every day, you're introduced to so many smells you never even knew existed. And believe me.... this was a new one for sure... My gag reflexes were so relieved when they called "Madeleine" as the stop and I was able to get off. So then I went to school, etc, etc. and then I started on my way home when I realized that I was out of milk and needed to stop by the grocery store. So I went inside and was looking for milk, and to my pleasant surprise found some yogurt that I had had two years ago when we were here that i've been looking for since! I was so happy! I also got some four cheese tortellini which I made for dinner:
As I was cooking it I felt like it would taste a little bland so I tossed in some ham and spinach remembering that mom had told me spinach steams itself so I did that and it was DELICIOUS. The end! Sorry nothing too interesting happened today!
Au demain,
Lauren
